New Place

Friday, July 27, 2007

The new place is up. Not everything is perfect yet, but I’m getting there. If you find any major glitches, please leave a comment or send me an email.

Comments haven’t been moved over. Fortunately there aren’t too many so maybe I’ll be able to figure out how to migrate them over using phpMyAdmin and some sql queries.

Pinwheel Rounds

Tuesday, June 5, 2007

So I’m up to my 2nd color on the pinwheel sweater and I’m about to switch from dpns to circular. That will be nice. So far I’m really enjoying this project. It’s fun to knit and the yarn is nice to work with too. Of course 2nd color means nothing since it’s only 10 rounds on about 12 stitches, but hey, it’s something. Especially since I spent the whole afternoon in bed asleep trying to get rid of this bug I got from Amelia. :( If she felt anything like I have felt today, I don’t blame her one bit for being as cranky as she was and crying. My whole body ached and felt sensitive to touch. I literally slept from about 12:30 to 4pm today. Ugh! Hopefully all the tylenol and nyquil I’m taking will help me get through tomorrow and this bug will go away soon.

Anyway, getting back to the subject at hand, I’ll get a picture up soon of my progress. I’d like to get a little more of it done and possibly be on the circs before I get pictures. It’s going pretty quick at the moment, but I know as it gets wider it will take much longer to do a round. But it feels good to be working on this project. Not sure why, but this one means a lot to me.

I’m Back from SF

Thursday, February 9, 2006

I got back from San Francisco on Saturday, but with going back to work, I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had a chance to update. I had a great time. It rained most of the time, but fortunately the one day I got out early from the conference it stopped raining so I was able to do a little sight seeing. I spent the afternoon with another girl from the conference walking around Fisherman’s Wharf.

I learned a lot at the conference and am having fun at work, playing with all the new stuff I picked up.

I did a little knitting while I was away, mainly in the evenings at the hotel while watching TV. I’m well on my way to a 2nd sock, that’s been my primary knitting project. I work better when I focus on only one at a time. So I’m going to forget about all the others till this one is done. I’m actually having fun watching it progress…can’t wait to get to the heel. I really enjoyed working on it last time. I’ll post pics of the pair once the match is complete.

Blanche is Blocking

Sunday, January 1, 2006

That’s right folks. She’s blocking! Then I will seam her up and do the neck and arm bands. What a pain to block! This yarn is tough. It’s cotton so it stretches so much. I did my best to push it back into place so hopefully it won’t look to bad when I’m done. In other news, I spent all morning Saturday shopping for fabric. I got what I needed to do my quilt then yesterday afternoon was spent cutting all the pieces. I still have the main colorway to cut but I think I can get it done today. Hopefully I’ll be able to start piecing it tonight, but if not then tomorrow. I’m so excited about this quilt. And glad to be almost done with Blanche. Next up, I’ve gotten my 2nd sock ready in my bag, so it will be with me wherever I go. But I think I will focus on putting the squares of my crochet afghan together and leave the sock for San Francisco. I need something small for that trip and this sock is the perfect project.

Knitting Break

Friday, January 28, 2005

I’m off to knit for a few hours today because starting this afternoon, I won’t be able to knit or read until Monday or Tuesday. I’m having LASIK surgery. I won’t be able to get on the computer either, so no more knitting news till next week.
