My first fair-isle project. I did the chart 2 times and still missed a row, but if you don’t know the pattern, you’d never know that something isn’t right. I like it and enjoyed working on it. My stitches are pretty uneven for the most part. It wasn’t til the last few rows that I finally figured out the best way to carry both yarns (in one hand).
I need to get more skilled at continental knitting before I try two handed fair-isle. But this isn’t bad for my first go at it. This picture doesn’t show it, but the top is sort of pointy, so I’m going to add a pompom using both colors.

I’ve completed my first loom project. I used the green round KK loom. Yarn is Lion Brand Wool-Ease Chunky and I knit it using the 1 over 2 stitch to make it a bit thicker. I just went around and around til I thought it was big enough. DH likes it because he can pull it down over his ears to his neck. It matches his neckwarmer and with both on, he can hide pretty much his whole face from the cold. I think it was a pretty successful project. And it took no time at all. I’m pleased with my first try.
I’m hoping to try the knitting board next. Possibly with a scarf or afghan project. You know me and afghans.

I’ve spent a few hours at Starbucks this afternoon and got the hat done. I think it came out pretty cute. Somehow the pattern has you make an odd number of eyelets, so that when you weave the i-cord through you end up having to skip an eyelet or you’ll have one tail inside the hat and one outside the hat. I probably should have searched for an errata because I knew one of the sizes had that problem. Just didn’t think the toddler size would. Oh well. And I probably should have made a longer i-cord, but I was getting tired of making it. I should probably get an i-cord maker. It would be much easier. LOL!

It’s so great to be able to finish a project so quickly. I love those instant gratification knits. :)

I’m just past the eyelets on the baby hat. It’s a pretty quick knit and I love how it’s coming out. I also like working with that yarn (Bernat Cottontots). It’s very soft and the stitches look great. I’ll definitely use it again for another project.

I’ve cast on for a new project. I’m doing the Children’s Cotton Hat from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. I’m using Bernats CottonTots in Sweet Green. I can’t wait to get working on it. I did a half swatch and I think I need to go up one needle size to get gauge. The yarn gauge is one off the pattern gauge. But thankfully I have the needles I need in my collection.
