I got into a kick to start sewing together some of the blocks in my gingham afghan. I have enough squares done to sew 3 rows together. So after a bit of research on sewing granny squares, I got home and got to it. I’m not particularly thrilled with how it’s turning out, but I’m following the instructions. I didn’t even make it through one row before I snipped my finger with the scissors trying to trim the ends. Ouch! Fortunately it was only a surface cut, but my pinkie is still a little sore. But I got a few squares sewn together.

I’m working on the loop edge of my pinwheel sweater and I’m not sure if I’ll have enough yarn. I might just make it, but it’s going to be close. And holy cow, it seems to be taking me forever. It’s like it won’t ever end. I will be glad when it’s finished and I can move on to the sleeves. I do have to say, I like the loop edge though. Gives it just enough frill for a little girl sweater. If I make one for myself, I’m not sure I’d keep the loop edge.
The autumn afghan is falling apart. Agh! Apparently the seaming I did was crap and it’s coming apart in places. So I have to revisit my seaming of this blasted thing. But the good news is that my sister loved it so much, she put in a request for her own. I’m not too keen on making another, so I sent her some links of other afghans that would give the same thickness and weight (which is what she loved about it, since she is always cold). Hopefully she will pick an afghan that is much easier on me than this thing was to put together. Both her and dad are looking forward to their socks. I hope to cast on sis’s socks this weekend and since they are going to be ankle length and toe-less, they should go pretty quick. At least I measured both their feet so I have a rough estimate of how long to make the foot portion of socks.

Here’s the finished afghan. I’m so thrilled that this project is finally finished! You have no idea. It’s been about 3 years since I started this afghan (I procrastinated a lot on this one) so to see it done it such a weight off my shoulders.

The Autumn Afghan is almost done. I’ve finished the strips. It’s all put together. One more step…the 2 round border of single crochet. Then it will officially be completed. I’m so excited. I will begin the border this evening. Pictures to follow as soon as it’s done.

I’m almost done with the strips on the autumn afghan. I’ve got 2 more strips to add. Then I have 2 rounds of single crochet for the border and it will be finished. Woohoo! I worked on it a little this morning, then I had to go grocery shopping. I’ve since been working on the pinwheel jacket. But the progress is steady, again. I had plans to work on it this past week, but I was sick in bed all week. :( I got Amelia’s bug and apparently it hit me harder than her. I was pretty much sleeping all day long for about 4 days. Ugh! I got nothing done! Yesterday, we went to the lake and went swimming. We also went fishing and I caught 2 fish in about 30 minutes. yeah! So it was fun. Amelia had a blast swimming. She loves the water!
