Organic Cotton

I got some gorgeous Blue Skys Alpaca Dyed Cotton yesterday. It’s a tomato red color and I plan to make the Central Park Hoodie with it. The LYS had a swatch done up and it happened to have a cable in it. I loved how the yarn showed off the cable so prominently and yet the yarn is extremely soft to the touch. I think it will be a good yarn for this since it’s a major cabled cardigan. Since I live in Alabama, the cotton is a better choice than 100% wool, which was my initial choice (Cascade 220).

I also picked up some sock yarn, of course. I just couldn’t resist, since I rarely get to the yarn shop. It’s 3 hours away and I just happened to be in that part of Atlanta yesterday. Thankfully my husband was much cooperative and even watched the baby for me while I shopped. And he said I could get what I wanted. So I did. :) I’m happy happy with my yarn. It’s fabulous. Now I can’t wait to start this cardigan.

But I must finish my current cardigan. I’m working on the Minimalist Cardigan from Interweave Knits. The yarn I’m using is Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran Tweed in green. It’s gorgeous! The moss stitch looks so good on the tweed. Every time I pull this thing out to work on it, I like it even more. And because it’s not just plain old stockinette, I’m enjoying working on it. It’s not boring. I’ll try to get pictures up when I can of my new yarn and of my cardigan progress.
