Last night I finished the first sleeve of Amelia’s pinwheel sweater. I must say, it looks awfully skinny. I guess all the ribbing will stretch out a little when I block it. I sure hope so. Anyway, today I hope to cast on (read: pick up the stitches) for the second sleeve and be on my way.

A long time ago, I worked on a cabled shell for my mom using Berroco Pronto. But I didn’t like the cables and I didn’t like how it turned out. Mom didn’t mind so I ripped it back and the yarn has been sitting in the bin for probably a year now. I’ve been wondering what to make with it. I was going to make a sweater, but realized I didn’t have enough yarn. I started looking at the free patterns and I think I have decided to do the Missy jumper. I have enough yarn (even to do the largest size), it’s a simple enough pattern and it will look cute on Amelia.

Yes, I have a bad case of ripple-itis. I keep jumping over to the No-End-In-Sight Ripple Along and I see everyone’s awesome looking ripples and I yearn to make my own. I want to make one so badly, I want to just forget about the other knitted items I’ve promised to make and start this cool looking afghan! It sucks! I’ve got at least 3 projects I need to make before I can think about this one, because I know it I start this, I won’t start any of the other projects I’ve promised to make (pedicure socks and an afghan for my sister and Thuja socks for my dad). But holy crap…the ripple-itis is getting to me badly! Maybe I’ll have to appease myself by getting the 200 Ripple Stitch Patterns book so I can peruse and decide exactly which ripple I want to do.
