Newest Project - NOT Socks

Sunday, February 25, 2007

Now that the socks are finished, I was considering starting a new pair of socks. Only this time finishing them in a more reasonable time frame. But I went out today and found the companion pattern book for “The Shop On Blossom Street”. In it there is a pattern for a baby afghan titled “Only the Finest for Amelia”. So of course, I have to make this afghan for my little girl. I’m casting on tonight and hopefully will be well on my way to getting this one knitted. Fortunately it’s done in one piece instead of a bunch of blocks that have to be seamed together.

Those and me don’t seem to be getting along. I’ve got two afghans that need to be pieced. Granted one isn’t even near finished, but I technically could start piecing what I have done. The other I don’t even want to think about. It was one of the first projects I did when I started learning to crochet and practically none of the squares are the same size. Putting it together will be a nightmare I think. So anyway. No, socks won’t be my next project, but I enjoyed making them, then and now (don’t know why it took so darn long to finish), but I need to do Amelia’s afghan first. And my table cloth, and my other afghans. LOL! Someday.

SSS is Over!

I fell into the sock syndrome. I wanted to knit socks because it’s a small project and it seemed like a fun and at the time challenging project. Also, because it’s a small project I could get it done and get that instant gratification. NOT!! It has taken me almost 2.5 years to finish the second sock after only a week to do the first one. But they are finally, yes, finally complete! Woohoo! I no longer have one sock syndrome. I no longer have the darn unfinished sock hanging over my head like a dark cloud. I now have a pair of finished knitted socks. :)
