Yes, I’m almost done. All I have left is blocking and seaming the strips together and my lapghan will be complete. I hope to block tonight, so I can start seaming tomorrow. I actually finished the knitting on Saturday, but have been trying to get over this flu, so I wasn’t in the mood for much knitting the past few days. I’m feeling better, so hopefully I’ll be able to completely cross it off my list in the next day or two. Once I’m done, I’ll post a photo and start my FO list for 2005! Off to work on Chamomile. LOL!

Happy New Year to everyone. I’m analyzing my first year of knitting, since I’ve now been knitting a full year. I’ve learned alot, I feel more confident in trying new, more difficult projects, but I’m still not as fast as I’d like to be. I’ve tried to be good and not buy yarn for a project until I’m ready to make said project, but I broke down and did it this weekend. I bought yarn for 2 projects, both afghans. I’m into afghans for some reason. I found a beautiful gingham and ruffles pattern in a magazine, so I’ll be working on that one soon. I also got a bug and decided to knit a baby blanket. Not sure if I will keep and save it for my baby, whenever one arrives, or pass it on to a friend who has a 7 month old baby girl. Either way, I’m excited to knit it. It’s done on size 15 needles so it will be a quick knit and I’ve already worked my gauge swatch.
My lapghan has 5 strips, each consisting of 5 blocks of color. I’m on the 4th block of color on the last strip, so I’m nearing the finish line. I’m so excited to be getting close to the end. Then begins the treacherous seaming, but at least I’ll be done with the knitting part. Then it’s back to Chamomile full-force.
My goals for 2005 are to stop buying yarn until I’m ready to start that particular project immediately. Also, to keep WIP to no more than 2-3 at one time. Possibly only one at a time. It’s easier for me and I don’t get so overwhelmed if I’m only focused on one or two projects. Finish what I start. I’ve been working on these same 4 projects most of the year, some since last January. Ugh! That’s way too long to be working on the same thing. I want more results and more variety. I hope to knit more projects so that my completed objects is longer in 2005 than it was in 2004. I want to learn patience and the importance of knitting swatches. I’m too impatient to start my new project that I don’t take enough time to carefully do out my swatch. Fortunately my previous projects didn’t require exact gauge. As far as actual knitting, I want to do cables. I also want do some lace knitting and crochet. Perhaps 2005 will include Charlotte’s Web. Other than that, I just want to knit and enjoy it.
