My H2O hat from ChicKnits. I used #17 needles on Lion Brand’s Wool-Ease Thick and Quick. Color is charcoal because at the time I didn’t see any other color I liked. I love this hat. It fits me and it was so easy to make. I took me more than 2 hours, but I’m a beginner and I kept stopping to cook and clean up the kitchen. I made my hubby chocolate chip cookies for Valentine’s Day. :)
On this hat I used a long-tail cast on. If you read any of my earlier posts, I mentioned that my first row was sloppy and loose. After searching for help, I came across the forums at About.com, I was able to get some help and they suggested it might be my cast on. So I tried the long-tail and it worked. My first row blends into the rest of the hat. No more sloppy, ugly first row. :D I have a feeling I will be making one of these again.

I’m working steady on my afghan squares. So far I’ve kept to my plan of getting at least half of my squares done before starting a new knitting project. I made this plan, because I know that if I start a knitting project the afghan will be pushed aside. And I’m really enjoying making the afghan. It doesn’t take much time to complete a square. I did one yesterday while on lunch break and I made one last night while watching television. So far I’ve got 5 squares done out of 35, so I’m at about 13%. It doesn’t sound like much, but at least I’m making progress.
I bought the yarn for the 2Hour Hat. I got Lion Brand’s Wool-Ease Thick and Quick. It has enough to make 2 hats. I also got yarn for another hat, the Mostly Knit-Round Hat in The Knit Stitch. Looking at the final measurements for it, I think it will fit better than the first hat I made. Once I make those hats and my legwarmers, :) I want to try my hand at a sweater. I’m thinking I might try the 3x Chic Sweater from knitty.com. Or I found a great cardigan that I really want.

You are Merino Wool. You are very easygoing and sweet. People like to keep you close because you are so softhearted. You love to be comfortable and warm from your head to your toes. “What kind of yarn are you?”:http://quizilla.com/users/bisybackson/quizzes/What%20kind%20of%20yarn%20are%20you%3F/ brought to you by “Quizilla”:http://quizilla.com

Here’s my first knitting project complete. I like it but it is a “one size fits most adults” and I’m not most adults, so my husband has claimed the hat. The seam isn’t perfect at all. It’s really obvious that it was my first seam, but I have to say it’s not bad for a first time. I may make another one, for myself, adjusting the pattern so it comes out smaller. But there’s another hat pattern I want to try (H2O Hat). A friend has requested it. I also want to work on my afghan. I had planned to get half of it done before starting another knit project, but I doubt that will happen. I will probably start my legwarmers sometime this week.

Here’s my basket of yarn. I was given this basket as a wedding present. It was supposed to be a picnic basket…complete with a sandwich recipe book. But I’ve decided it’s just perfect for all of my knitting projects. :) I currently have three projects in it. Oh, you can also see my progress on the rib hat right in front. It’s that khaki yarn. I’ve made it to 5 inches. Only 6 more to go then I start on the crown. I’m hoping to get it done this weekend.
My husband is going camping again Saturday, and I have to finish watching season 1 of CSI because it’s due back at Blockbuster, so I’ll have plenty of time to work on it. I like how it’s coming out so far, and this is my first official knitting project.
